Castleford Tigers Women have issued a message of support to their Wakefield counterparts following yesterday’s one-sided Challenge Cup semi-final.
The Tigers inflicted a 100-0 drubbing on their less experienced opponents to qualify for the Final, where they’ll meet Leeds.
But the team has shown exceptional magnanimity in victory and shared their own experience of learning the hard way.
In a Facebook post, the Tigers said: “Just wanted to show this to the girls from Wakefield Trinity Ladies.
“These are our results from the first ever Women’s Super League back in 2017.
“As you can see, the results are less than impressive.
“We know how you are feeling this morning. We’ve been there before. All we can say is don’t give up. Don’t throw in the towel, get back to training and go again!
“You may have lost yesterday but who knows where you will be in two years time.”
A comment from the York City Knights Ladies team re-affirmed the message of support, adding: “Big scores can be very demoralising, but hard work does pay off.
“Well done on trying to lift the Wakefield Ladies’ heads.
“Keep going, Wakefield, you will get there.
“We are two seasons in and still learning in every game we play.”
