Wakefield Trinity coach Chris Chester said there was absolutely no truth to the rumours linking him with the Wigan Warriors coaching job next year.
Since Shaun Edwards’ high profile U turn on a verbal agreement to take charge next year, speculation has been rife about who will fill the post next year, with Chester’s name emerging as a favourite.
However, in a recent interview with Forty20, the Trinity boss has categorically set the record straight, stating he has no intention of moving anywhere and is extremely happy at his hometown club.
“It’s crazy. I don’t know where people get their stories from but I’ve had no contact from Wigan,” he said.
“I’m a Wakefield lad, I’m really happy here and I’ve learned a lot of lessons from my time at Hull KR about happiness.
“I’ve recently signed a long term deal at Wakefield Trinity so the fans can sit easy,” he added.
