Cup win shows Bulls “are coming back” – Kear

Bradford Bulls coach John Kear believes his side’s staggering win over Leeds in the Challenge Cup has shown the rugby league world that the club is on the rise back to the top after recent years of misery.

The Bulls shocked their local rivals 24-22 in the first competitive match between the two sides since 2014, adding to the woes of the 2019 for the Rhinos.

But for John Kear, who has yet another magical cup moment to savour in his career, this win proved the Bulls are heading into the right direction.

“We have sent a signal that we are coming back, but Super League is the goal,” he said.

“I’m delighted for the owner and for the fans, as they have had thin and thinner times recently.

“It is a very special day for everyone involved and a very big day for this club.”
