Huddersfield Giants star Lee Gaskell says there is an extra buzz about the place this week after his side secured their first win of the 2019 season over Wigan last weekend.
The Giants prevailed 14-6 over the champions at the DW Stadium, ending a nine game losing streak dating back to last year.
Now, the players have a spring in their step and new found belief heading into a tough clash with Saints, but Gaskell said the boost received by the result was hugely important.
“It was massive. It gives everyone that boost that we all needed – in the first four rounds we were disappointed with the results, but we showed some effort and desire and we were able to show a good performance against a good Wigan side on their own patch, he said.
“Everyone’s buzzing, everyone’s looking forward to coming to training. When you’ve been on a bad run, it’s tough to keep up your positivity but we’ve been picking each other up.
