Hull KR have handed one of their former players a role as part of the club’s Academy coaching staff.
Jason Netherton made more than 150 appearances for the Robins between 2005 and 2014, and has held a role with the City of Hull Academy, which will be discontinued at the end of the year.
Netherton will move into the role of head of academy youth coaching at his old club and will be based at Bishop Burton.
Netherton said: “I’ve been away for a few years but I’m glad to be back at Rovers. It’s strange the way it has come about, with the split of the Academy.
“The COHA concept may well go down as a failure to some people but I don’t think it ever was.
“If you look at the results from COHA, we got some great players through and would’ve carried on.
“I completely understand the reason for coming back together with reserves returning and I’m glad I’m back at Hull KR, as this is my club.
“I’m looking forward to getting some kids through the Hull KR system with the Hull KR identity.”
