Holbrook looking to tame Salford halves

St Helens coach Justin Holbrook said his side will have to look after Salford’s two main threats as they get ready to take on the Red Devils this weekend.

Saints sit top of the pile with just one loss so far this season but will host Ian Watson’s side, who have taken some big scalps this season with impressive wins over Warrington and Catalans in France.

With their opponents bound to be fired up after a disappointing Challenge Cup defeat to Hull KR last time out, Holbrook was keen to highlight Aussie pairing Jackson Hastings and Robert Lui as the key threats his players will have to deal with.

“For us we have got to make sure we do a good job there on Hastings and Lui, their two main threats,” he said.

“They run their plays well – and we will be tested in that area.”
