Keighley “saddened and appalled” by crowd trouble

Keighley Cougars have issued a statement following reports of foul and abusive language directed at ball boys and a club member of staff during tonight’s defeat to Hunslet.

The Cougars were beaten 32-10 at home, with the evening soured further by complaints of abuse from the terraces, with the club now conducting a formal investigation into the matter.

“The club has received several reports following this evening’s fixture of discord on the terraces, some of which has seen our ball boys receiving verbal abuse from the terraces and a member of staff also being on the receiving end of these comments,” the statement read.

“Keighley Cougars prides itself on being a family club and take zero tolerance to any troublesome behaviour.

“The club as such will be launching an investigation into these incidents and would like to call on those in attendance to help help us with this investigation.”

  1. Was it abuse,or just fans voicing their displeasure at awful team performances?.What kind of ” abuse ” was it and are fans still allowed to voice displeasure at their team?.
