Leeds Rhinos hooker Shaun Lunt said the feel of his new club is exactly the same as when he had his first spell there on loan in 2012.
Lunt lifted the Super League trophy with the Rhinos seven years ago, before a seven year hiatus was ended two weeks ago with him returning to Headingley until the end of the season in a swap deal with Hull KR for Matt Parcell.
Eager to make his second debut for Leeds against his old club on Friday night, Lunt had nothing but praise of the club for making his transition back to West Yorkshire easy and was confident his side would continue to improve as the business end of the season approaches.
“I was here on loan in 2012 and, to me, it feels like the club hasn’t changed since then. I’ve been welcomed with open arms by everyone, players, staff and fans,” he said.
“Having seen Leeds from the outside and now being in the camp I am 100 per cent sure we are heading in the right direction.
“We’ve made improvements over the two weeks I have been here and everyone saw last week how much better our defence has become. If we can continue to get better week-in and week-out we will be fine.”
