Speculation is rife that several stars of the NRL, including Origin half-back James Maloney, could be bound for Super League after being made available by their current clubs.
The Daily Telegraph in Australia claims that Maloney has been told by Penrith that he is free to take up any prospective offers in the UK, while TotalRL.com’s Matt Shaw reports that “a raft” of the NRL players are also on the market for moves.
Shaw writes: “NRL agents have started to shop their overseas players to clubs in the Northern Hemisphere with a view to making the move from down under.”
The list includes:
Daniel Alvaro (Parramatta)
Kurt Capewell (Cronulla)
Aaron Gray (Cronulla)
Corey Jensen (North Queensland)
Max King (Gold Coast)
Jeremy Latimore (St George-Illawarra)
James Maloney (Penrith)
Ray Stone (Parramatta)
Kyle Turner (South Sydney)
