One of the Papua New Guinea’s most successful UK exports could make his playing return this weekend.
Sheffield Eagles star Menzie Yere has been re-signed by the club, but immediately sent out on a one-month loan to neighbours Doncaster.
Yere was last week granted a Visa to remain in the UK after having previously been at risk of a forced return to PNG.
Sheffield general manager Liam Claffey said: “Menzie has kept himself busy during the interim in the community game with appearances for Sheffield Hawks RLFC & Stocksbridge RUFC, but he requires some much needed game time at a professional level.
“Thanks to Carl Hall at Doncaster for helping to enable this move, we are sure Menzie will be fantastic addition as they push for promotion this season with some key fixtures over the next few weeks.”
