Reports in Wales suggest Shaun Edwards will sign a new contact as defence coach with the Wales rugby union team.
The report claims: “Shaun Edwards is set to finalise a deal to stay on with Wales after the World Cup when he will be one of two defence coaches working with the 2019 Grand Slam champions.
“The 52-year-old defensive guru looked set to return to rugby league as head coach of Wigan Warriors and was also linked with Gallagher Premiership jobs with Wasps and Leicester Tigers.
“But it looks like he will be staying on as part of Wayne Pivac’s new-look Welsh coaching team and talks are reportedly in their final stages over a new deal with the WRU.”
Wigan are yet to comment on the reports, but, if confirmed, it means the Warriors will be looking for a new coach in 2020.
