Robins cool interest in half-back

Reports claim Hull KR are set to end their pursuit of a half-back from one of their Super League rivals following the departure of Tim Sheens.

The Hull Daily Mail’s James O’Brien claims that Sheens’ exit from Craven Park has changed the club’s recruitment plans, after they were previously linked with a move for Salford’s Robert Lui.

O’Brien writes: “The Robins are prioritising a hooker and a half-back as they make plans for the 2020 season.

“Australian half-back Lui has been a long-term target and the Robins recently reopened their pursuit of the 29-year-old.

“But that was being led by Sheens, who handed Lui his NRL debut in 2009 at Wests Tigers and signed the player for Salford in his role as director of rugby at the Red Devils.”
