Robins fears confirmed as scans reveal end of Greenwood’s season

Hull KR second rower James Greenwood will not play again in 2019 as scans revealed the influential forward has ruptured his ACL.

Greenwood was helped from the field during the first half of the Robins dramatic late win over Wakefield, with the club confirming what was feared that the 27 year old will now have surgery in the coming weeks and begin a lengthy lay off period.

It is a bitter blow for Rovers, who already decimated with injuries and Greenwood has been joined by new signing Ryan Lannon, who is expected to be out for up to ten weeks following surgery on his ankle this week.
