Wigan Warriors youngster Jake Shorrocks has been tipped to add something to the mix in 2019 as he closes in on a return to action for the Cherry and Whites for the first time in over two years.
The 23 year old has spent time on loan with Salford Red Devils last season and hasn’t played yet this term due to a lack of reserve grade in Super League, but is expected to come off the bench in the hooking role for Adrian Lam tomorrow night against Warrington.
After impressing immensely in pre-season, an injury to Sam Powell has paved the way for Shorrocks’ return to the side and Lam was confident the youngster would have an impact once back up to speed in the senior side.
“This pre-season he has been one of my favourites, to be honest. He’s been outstanding, one of the highlights,” Lam said.
“But it’s very difficult to come in and make an impact when you’ve not played for six weeks (since the friendlies).”
