London coach Danny Ward hailed his side’s defensive effort, the creativity of his halves and the all-round performance of his players following today’s shock win against Saints.
Morgan Smith fired over a drop-goal in Golden Point extra team to secure a vital win for the Broncos against Super League’s pace-setters.
“To do it with a Golden Point was very nerve-racking and I’ve only just calmed down from it,” he told the post-match press conference.
“It was an outstanding effort and the performance from the boys was the most pleasing thing.
“We always talk about needing 17 blokes who are working hard for each other and achieving eights and nines out of ten in each game to compete with some of these teams.
“I’m proud of everybody’s effort today.
“I thought the middles were absolutely fantastic, certainly in defence.
“We’ve worked a lot in these last couple of weeks on our defending.
“Our attack was fantastic too. Our halves were a lot better today and we were really happy with how they went.
“1 to 17 went out there and gave it everything. It’s certainly the best win of the season and one to build on.”
