Another key Warrington man now in serious doubt for Wembley

Warrington Wolves head coach Steve Price admitted there was an injury cloud over another of his key men ahead of their Challenge Cup final showdown with St Helens next weekend.

Fullback Stefan Ratchford, who only returned to action a few weeks ago from a torn pectoral muscle, left the field in Warrington’s 20-6 loss to Wigan last night with a number of issues and will now be racing the clock to be fit for Wembley.

“Stef had a few things flaring up and I got told that he had to come off,” Price said.

“He had a couple of lower leg issues and a few up top too. There’s a cloud on him for next week.”

Ratchford joins other influential names Blake Austin, Jack Hughes and Josh Charnley in racing to be fit to face St Helens a week today.
