Barrow Raiders will join Rochdale Hornets in being relegated from the Championship after they were comfortable beaten in Canada by Toronto Wolfpack.
The Raiders came into the game with a catalogue of injuries and were only able to field 14 players against the free scoring league leaders, and will now officially ply their trade in League 1 next year after being hammered 62-8.
Despite the big scoreline against them and the realisation relegation, Raiders boss Paul Crarey has nothing but praise for the effort from his players.
“I can’t praise them enough really. We knew it was a big ask to come, and we’ve seen teams at full size that have been beaten more than that, so we get some respectability to come out of it,” he told The Mail.
