Canterbury Bulldogs have revealed they will not be looking to sign Latrell Mitchell from the reigning premiers Sydney Roosters.
Speculation has been rife all week on where the New South Wales and Australia centre will end up after the Roosters withdrew a contract extension offered to him – with the Bulldogs heavily linked with him.
The Roosters are now prepared to release him from the final year of his contract as the 22-year-old is holding out for a deal worth $1million a year.
Doggies CEO Andrew Hill has spoken out over the speculation linking his team with Mitchell, he told the club website: “Usually we don’t make comment around our recruitment and retention strategies.
“However, with all the speculation around this matter we thought it was the right thing to do by everyone to confirm we won’t pursue an interest in Latrell Mitchell.”
