Bradford have allayed supporter fears relating to the number of single-season contracts handed to members of their first-team squad.

The Bulls answered the question as part of their ‘Ask the Bulls’ initiative on the club’s official website.

And a spokesperson indicated that they are hopeful that a number of players will extend their deals beyond 2020, as the club’s seeks to bring stability following another uncertain close-season.

The spokesperson said: “12 month contracts are the standard length of contracts at Championship level as we are working on year by year budgets which can change.

“The management, shareholders and directors are making every effort to show to the players that there is a long-term future for them at Bradford.

“Steve Crossley agreed to extend his contract for another 12-months, so we hope this is laying a marker for other players and moving forward.

“Hopefully many of our current squad will take the opportunity to extend their contracts too.”
