Burgess faces another ban

South Sydney captain Sam Burgess is facing yet another ban in the NRL after being charged for contrary conduct.

The England international hasn’t played three consecutive matches for the Rabbitohs this season since round 13 after undergoing minor shoulder surgery and is set to miss another week after being cited for pulling the hair of Sydney Roosters winger Billy Smith in yesterday’s narrow 16-10 win.

NRL.com reports that Burgess is facing a suspension due to his number of repeat offences this year, which means he can no longer be fined for minor charges and could now sit out the first week of the NRL play-offs.
