Burgess to face court after argument with father-in-law

South Sydney captain Sam Burgess is due to in court after an argument with his father-in-law Mitchell Hooke, who is looking to impose a permanent apprehended violence order against him.

Having reportedly recently separated from wife Phoebe for a second time after a tumultuous 12 months for the couple, Burgess and Hooke engaged in a heated argument when the England international went to Hooke’s house to visit his children and was asked to leave the property.

It is not believed that Burgess was doing anything wrong by being at the property in the absence of Phoebe, but the incident is now being taken further to the courts according to reports in The Canberra Times, with the former Bradford forward currently under a temporary AVO following the incident.
