Wakefield chief executive Michael Carter has responded to an accusation made on social media that he is one of several club owners not doing enough to force an independent enquiry into the recent history of Bradford and Odsal.

Carter was responding to comments made by Bradford supporter Andrew Foster, who has been a notable campaigner for questions to be asked about the recent change of ownership and broader goings on at the Bulls.

Foster said: “Where are the club owners on the Bulls / RFL / Odsal issue?

“McManus, Lenagan, Hudgell, Carter? Will you help force an independent inquiry?”

Carter was quick to reply on the matter.

He said: “I think you’ll find I continually put my head above the parapet, going back three or four years and questioning whilst the Chalmers love-in was ongoing.

“And I continue to do so regarding Odsal going back seven years, so calling me out on Twitter doesn’t really wash, especially as the journalists mentioned know what I’ve been trying to find out and get to the bottom of.”
