Castleford Tigers head physio Matt Crowther has provided some encouraging updates on eight of the club’s injured first team stars as preparations for the 2020 season continue.

Captain Michael Shenton has made a full recovery from a long term ankle injury and will be fit to start the Tigers pre-season, whilst Liam Watts (finger) and Jake Trueman (sternum) are both fit enough to play in the post season internationals this year.

Cheyse Blair, who injured his foot in the play-off game with Warrington, is in a protective boot and being monitored, alongside Nathan Massey, who has had a clean out operation on his wrist and Mike McMeeken, who is recovering from a serious dead leg, with the latter two a certainty to be fit for the start of pre-season training.

Long term injury absentees Junior Moors (hip) and Alex Foster (knee) are progressing well but are unlikely to be fit to start the 2020 season.
