After almost losing his life after going into anaphylactic shock on the eve of State of Origin two, Wests Tigers captain Moses Mbye is still no closer to finding out the cause of the problem.

The 25 year old collapsed outside his hotel room and has to be brought round by the Queensland doctor, who ultimately saved his life, but this was the first incident in his life of that nature, prompting questions of what brought it on.

After having numerous tests, the former Bulldogs man is still baffled by what happened and is awaiting results to try and clarify the issue.

“I’ve done all the bloods but because it was a near-miss, there’s other stuff to test too [in his body],” he said.

“Honestly I still don’t know if it was something I ingested. It takes about eight weeks and I had the tests a couple of days before [Origin] game three [July 10].

“It didn’t happen in 25 years so I’ve been doing pretty much what I’ve always done – it’s just one of those things – weird.”
