The 16th and final place at the 2021 Rugby League World Cup has one to the Cook Islands who defeated USA 38-16 winners over the USA in Florida.

The Kukis overcame the second half sin binning of St Helens forward Dom Peyroux to close the game out strongly and will now line up alongside the world’s best in two years time.

Troy Dargan scored two tries, with Antony Gelling, Alex Glenn, Vincent Rennie, Reuben Rennie and Tevin Arona all touching down for one apiece, with only Bureta Faraimo, Matt Shipway and Danny Howard scoring in reply for the Americans.

It is the Cook Islands first visit to the World Cup finals tournament since 2013 after they missed out in 2017.
