Karl Fitzpatrick has moved to clarify that marquee signing Gareth Widdop will not miss the start of the 2020 season through injury amid rumours he has sustained a long term issue. Fitzpatrick told Warrington Guardian’s Matt Turner: Reports claiming Gareth is out with a long-term injury are incorrect. He did pick up a knock in the last game for GB, but he should be fit for the start of his pre-season training.”

Sydney Roosters star centre Latrell Mitchell has now been shopped around to Toronto Wolfpack, according to The Sydney Morning Herald’s Andrew Webster. “And now, in the latest episode of “Where the Hell is Latrell Mitchell playing next season?”, it can be revealed the Roosters have shopped the star centre to the Toronto Wolfpack,” the reports reads, after talks for Mitchell to join Canterbury and Wests Tigers both recently fell through.

Totalrl.com’s Matt Shaw is reporting that Jamie Ellis’ move from Castleford to Hull KR has been completed. Ellis will return to Rovers, where he spent a season on loan in 2017, following the Tigers decision to bring in Danny Richardson. “Ellis was due on Humberside today to finalise his move to the club from Castleford, who had informed the halfback he was free to find a new club,” Shaw writes.

New Hull FC signing Manu Ma’u will officially arrive in the UK this week and commence training next Monday. Hull Daily Mail’s William Jackson reports: “Following his off-season exploits with the Tonga national team, helping his country record historic wins over Great Britain and Australia, his arrival has been pushed back to give him a break before travelling to Hull to link up with his new team.”
