Salford’s Rhys Williams admits “it’s been a very strange few days” since footage of his try against Toronto went viral. Williams has attracted visual comparisons with Liverpool’s Mo Salah and told the Daily Mirror’s Gareth Walker: “I started getting the Mo Salah comments when I grew my hair at London Broncos last year so that’s nothing new.”

Tom Briscoe hopes to be back in action within the next three months. Briscoe has been sidelined since suffering an ACL injury last August and told the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Peter Smith: “It has been six months now and we said six to nine, so a couple more months and, hopefully, I should be there or thereabouts.”

Kristian Woolf is confident that the return of Tommy Makinson, Kyle Amor and Morgan Knowles for Sunday’s clash against Hull FC can help them bounce back from last Friday’s defeat. He told the St Helens Star’s John Yates: ”Our leaders are on their way back and hopefully will guide us around the field.”

Harvey Livett says the Hull KR fans are inspiring the players to defy the critics. The Robins have won one from two so far this season and pushed Hull FC all the way last Friday. He told the Hull Daily Mail’s James O’Brien: “You’ve got pundits writing us off left, right and centre saying we’re going to get relegated and when you’ve got the fans travelling everywhere as loud as they are it’s a massive confidence booster.”

Tony Smith says he isn’t surprised by Kevin Sinfield’s progression in the game following his retirement as a player. Smith told the Yorkshire Post’s Dave Craven: “When he makes a mistake he puts his hand up about it. That’s a great attribute to have. He’ll stand by some of his decisions as well and argue them well.”
