Bernard Guasch is seeking approval from Super League bosses to host a French version of the Magic Weekend, featuring a double-header of Catalans and Toulouse matches at the stadium Toulouse will share with the city’s rugby union team next season, according to L’Independant. The report states: “Guasch is a huge supporter of Toulouse’s efforts to gain eventual Super League status and believes the double-header would boost support for the club at the new stadium.”
Toronto chairman Bob Hunter says there plans in place to develop Lamport Stadium ahead of next season, and in the longer term. Hunter told TotalRL.com’s Matt Shaw that the plans include the addition of new seats and a big screen at the stadium. He said: “Probably over a three-year period, and we expect to start on it in the next two to three months.”
Brodie Croft has hinted his time at Melbourne may be over after meeting with Brisbane coach Anthony Seibold. The young half back ended the 2019 season on the outer with the Storm and looks likely to sign a deal with the Queensland club. “We discussed the potential there at the Broncos. It was a good conversation. But in saying that, nothing’s been set down in writing yet,” Croft told Fox Sports.
Two Hull KR supporters have launched a crowdfunding initiative in an effort to help the club sign a marquee player for next season. The Hull Daily Mail’s James Smailes reports: “Paul White and Graham Dunford have set up the Hull KR Fans Marquee Player Fundraiser with the intention of raising £100,000 by the end of November, 2019, to aid Rovers in their squad rebuilding for next season.”
