Rochdale Hornets have strengthened their squad ahead of the Betfred League 1 season with the double signing of Callum Ogden and James Connaughton.

Ogden, who is a former Rochdale Mayfield junior, has joined his local side after leaving fellow League 1 side Doncaster.

The hooker told the club website: “I’m delighted to have signed for my hometown club and am looking forward to playing under Matt Calland again.

“I can’t wait to rip in with the boys and hopefully have a successful 2020 season.”
