Sheffield Eagles have secured the signing of former Super League prop forward Scott Wheeldon, who returns to the club for his second spell.
The former Hull FC, Hull Kingston Rovers, London Broncos, London Skolars, Castleford Tigers and Featherstone Rovers player is back with the Eagles after a season away and has signed a two-year contract.
He first signed for Sheffield in 2016 before leaving for Featherstone – where he played 18 times for Rovers.
The 33-year-old told the club website: “I am happy to be back. I enjoyed my time with the Eagles when I was here before.
“Obviously I’ve spent a couple of years elsewhere then there was an opportunity to come back.
“I spoke to Tubbs, he likes me as a player and a person so I’m more than happy to come on board.”
📢 WHEELDON RETURNS!
💬 “It’s nice he (Mark Aston) has put that trust into me and I’ll be looking to repay that on the field.”
