One of Sheffield Eagles’ outside backs will miss the rest of the season and re-injuring a shoulder in the club’s recent win over York.
Former Batley man Jason Crookes will now undergo surgery to repair his shoulder after dislocating it against the City Knights and will sit out the rest of the campaign.
Sheffield director of rugby Mark Aston expressed his disappointment for the player and the club.
“Jason Crookes was a negative coming out of the York game. He injured the same shoulder, in similar circumstances to the last time. It is probably dislocated, so that’s his season done now. He’ll have to get the operation done and then get ready for next season,” he said.
