After winning the inaugural 1895 Cup last Saturday, Sheffield Eagles have announced contract extensions for three of their stars.
Captain Matt James, Ryan Miller and Joel Farrell have all committed their futures to the Eagles for another two seasons and all three were delighted to stay in the Steel City.
“I am really happy to be offered a two-year deal and I cannot wait to get back and rip in pre-season and hopefully be ready for the start of next season,” James said.
“I can’t thank him [Mark Aston] enough for giving me an opportunity to put things right in the case of coming back from injury and getting back playing.”
Farrell added: “I am really happy to have re-signed for the club, I’m enjoying my rugby again and being around the boys.”
“It’s the best rugby I’ve played in a while and I’m enjoying myself.”
Miller also commented on the new deal. “The club is heading in the right direction and they’ve really helped me out over the last few seasons and I’m pleased that can continue,” he said.
“Obviously they stuck by me in pre-season and had faith in me.”
