Two English players plying their trade in the NRL have both committed to new deals down under.
Elliott Whitehead and Ryan Sutton have both extended their contracts with the Canberra Raiders until the end of the 2022 season.
Whitehead has been a mainstay in the Green Machine’s pack since joining the club in 2016, while Sutton has impressed in his first season in the NRL after coming over from Wigan ahead of this season.
Speaking about their new deals, Whitehead and Sutton had no doubts about staying in the Australian capital.
“I’ve seen this squad grow into something special over the past few seasons and I really wanted to make sure I stayed in Canberra and be a part of what we’re building. I didn’t want to go anywhere else,” Whitehead told raiders.com.au.
“It’s my goal now to keep getting better and better each year of this contract and hopefully establishing myself as an NRL player for the rest of my career,” added Sutton.
