The RFL is inviting fans to vote for the name of the award that will be given to the man of the match in next month’s 1895 Cup Final.

The governing body has published a shortlist of three legendary names from the sport and invited supporters to make their selection using the Our League app.

Fans will also vote to decide who wins the award on the day.

The RFL’s article explains: “Rather than making the decision behind closed doors, the Rugby Football League is inviting more than 113,000 Our League members to get involved.

“We think it’s a tricky decision, having come up with three nominations, each of whom would surely be recognised as worthy of joining Lance Todd on the Wembley role of honour.”

The choices are:

  • Ray French MBE
  • Willie Horne
  • Johnny Whiteley MBE

Voting closes at 3pm on Friday 9th August.
