Teenage sensation David Fifita has been ruled out of potentially making his Kangaroos debut against Tonga after suffering a fractured eye socket against France, a game he was able to continue playing in.

The Brisbane and Queensland forward suffered the injury after copping a stray boot in the face whilst playing in the Junior Kangaroos 62-4 triumph over France.

Fifita passed his HIA in the second half and returned to the field of play, but Fox Sports understands he has now been ruled out of being called up to Mal Meninga’s senior Australia squad against the Mate Ma’a, with Roosters utility Victor Radley and Parramatta captain Clint Gutherson joining the squad in New Zealand ahead of the clash.
