Leeds Rhinos confirmed that the two fans responsible for setting off a flare in the away end terrace before it ended up on the pitch have been identified and are currently being investigated.

The ugly scenes occurred at Emerald Headingley Stadium last night after Joey Lussick’s late try sealed Salford’s first win at Leeds since 2009, with a flare being lit amongst the Red Devils fans on the Western Terrace before it ended up on the field, causing a delay to the game.

Salford players Jackson Hastings and Josh Jones were seen visibly frustrated by the scenes in the stand, with two culprits now identified and under investigation.

“In regard to the flare being thrown onto the pitch, the two people responsible have being identified and are now being dealt with by the appropriate authorities,” the Rhinos media team said after the game.
