Former NRL star and Rugby Union superstar Israel Folau has confirmed he has taken Rugby Australia to court over the termination of his contract following a backlash from offensive content he put on social media.

Folau is a devout christian, and posted on his Twitter and Instagram a statement that suggested homosexual people would go to hell back in April.

Shortly after, the Wallabies fullback was sacked by his Super Rugby club the NSW Warratahs and Rugby Australia for committing  a “high-level breach of the Professional Players’ Code of Conduct.”

However, the former Queensland and Kangeroos man is now set to fight his cause in court, hoping to be reinstated back into the professional game.
