After departing Wakefield recently due to serious shoulder injury, a former Super League forward has joined amateur side Castleford Lock Lane.
Experienced prop Craig Huby is currently training to be a chef as he continues to recover from injury, but has joined the amateur club for their National Conference campaign as part of the coaching staff.
“I do have quite a bit of spare time and I have joined them – but just to help with some coaching!” he confirmed.
“It’s a good way of keeping in the game and having a laugh with the lads and it’s also good for the profile of the club.
“I never actually played for Lock Lane as a kid – I was at Smawthorne, Redhill and Ponty Lions – but it’s one of the better clubs that is still actually going around here; there’s not many left. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in.”
