One of Whitehaven’s most experienced forwards has opted not to re-sign for the club following their promotion to the Championship.
Carl Forster returned to ‘Haven earlier this season, after having previously served at the club as player coach.
But the former Super League prop has explained his decision not to remain in the club in 2020.
He said: “It’s with a heavy heart I’ve decided not to re-sign at Whitehaven.
“My decision is based on needing to be closer to home to spend more time with the family and to be able to concentrate on work outside of rugby.
“I’ve loved the last three years and more so the last three or four months getting the club back to where it should be.
“After being part of the team that was relegated it was massively important for me to leave on a high.
“I’d like to thank everyone associated with the club, especially Des & the VPs, Mark Stamper, who has always looked after me since day one, Charlo and the team for welcoming me back, and especially the fans who’ve always made me feel at home.
“I’v made friends for life. Thank you for everything.”
