Wigan Warriors new signing Bevan French made his club debut in last night’s win over Hull KR and was left amazed by the atmosphere at the DW Stadium in his first game in the UK.

French joined the club two weeks ago and made a cameo appearance off the bench after an hour as the Warriors beat the Robins 36-18 and the former Parramatta Eels star was left singing the praises of the vocal Super League spectators.

“In the NRL, you get the same number of seats and more people, but no way near as loud and as passionate as that. It’s enjoyable to play in front of an atmosphere like that,” he said.

“It’s a new experience for me and it’s crazy how passionate the fans are over here and how welcoming they’ve been.”
