Luke Gale has revealed he’s likely to make his Leeds debut in the Boxing Day friendly against Wakefield.

The new signing says coach Richard Agar has giving him to the go ahead to play in the annual fixture, which typically sees both coaches field several fringe players.”

Gale told BBC Radio Leeds’ James Deighton: “Richard’s given me the nod, so if selected and all being well I’ll be playing.

“I think most of us will play, to be honest.”

As well as being his Rhinos debut, the game will also mark Gale’s comeback from injury.

“It’s exciting because the last game I played was against Wigan in the 2018 semi-final, so it’s a long time ago and I hope I still remember how to lace my boots up.

“It’s massive. All those dark days and tough mornings you go through, you start to wonder if you’re every going to get back fit again.

“You know it’ll all be worth it when you run out and the 80 minutes is up, so I’m looking forward to it, and my family are too.

“I can’t wait to pull the jersey on and it will be big moment for me in a lot of different ways.

“It’ll be a great day and one I’m looking forward to.”
