Castleford Tigers, Hunslet and Doncaster legend Dennis Hartley has passed away at the age of 83.

Hartley, who started his career at Doncaster before moving to Hunslet, joined Castleford in 1966 two years after making his Great Britain debut.

The prop forward went to Wembley in 1965 when they lost to Wigan in the Challenge Cup Final, before going on to lift the twice in the colours of Castleford – the second seeing him gain some revenge over Wigan in the 1970 final.

He represented Great Britain 11 times between 1964-70 and was part of the last Lions squad to win a Test series in Australia in 1970.
