Wigan Warriors star Oliver Gildart is fully focused on coming back bigger and better than ever in 2020 after having surgery on a dislocated shoulder in the off season.
The 23 year suffered the injury whilst on Great Britain duty against Tonga and is now on the gruelling road to recovery after going under the knife.
Although happy to be back in and around the playing squad, Gildart admits being so limited in his preparations for the new season is frustrating.
“Everyone is in training and that one step ahead of me, I am way off doing any strength or fitness, so I know that people are improving at the minute whilst I’m not. I have to take this time to let my body heal then just train as hard as ever to get back and win my spot,” he told the club website.
“I hate not playing because at the end of the day this is my job so when it gets taken away by injury it is pretty bad. I’ve not had many where I have been out for this amount of time so it will feel like a long, but I am pretty focused on getting back to where I was last year.”
