New Huddersfield signing Ashton Golding has vowed to bounce back positively, after it was confirmed that he’ll be sidelined for several months.
Golding suffered a hamstring injury in last week’s friendly win against Wakefield and further assessments have revealed more series damage than first anticipated.
Former Rhino Golding said: “In my life nothing has come easy and getting back to Super League is proving to be no different.
“I’ll admit I wasn’t ready for the news, but with the support of family, friends, physios and team-mates, I can overcome this.
“I will be back.”
Meanwhile, team-mates Jordan Turner and Tom Holmes have received bans following incidents during the club’s pre-season programme.
Turner has received a two-match penalty notice following a Grade C charge of dangerous contact in the match against Wakefield last week.
The panel ruled that Turner forcefully twisted, bent or otherwise applied pressure to
the limb or limbs of Wakefield’s Alex Walker, resulting in an unacceptable risk of injury.
Team-mate Holmes has received a one-match penalty notice for a high tackle on Batley’s Danny Yates in the Giants’ win against the Bulldogs.
The panel ruled that Holmes attempted to effect a legal tackle but was “reckless about the outcome”.
