After admittedly being shocked to be included on the tour, Wigan’s Zak Hardaker says he is prepared to give it his all for Great Britain against Tonga tomorrow.
Hardaker returned to the game following a 16 month drugs ban this season and was virtually ever present for Adrian Lam’s side, earning him a return to the international arena with the first Lions Tests in 12 years and a start at centre alongside Warriors teammate Oliver Gildart.
“I’m really looking forward to not just representing my country, but Great Britain as a whole. It’s the pinnacle in Rugby League and hopefully I can give it my all tomorrow,” he told Wigan’s website.
“I thought my season was finished with Wigan. We had a decent year, didn’t finished where we wanted to but personally I’ve have a good twelve months.
“We’ve been getting tested in training, but I’m really looking forward to tomorrow, it’ll be a really tough test.”
