Wigan half-back Jackson Hastings says he has received abusive Tweets following reports that he’d consider a return to the NRL if the right opportunity came around.

Hasting admitted that it’s “definitely something” he wants to do, describing the competition in Australia as “the pinnacle.

He added: “No one saw the best of Jackson Hastings whereas over here people have got to see that.”

And Hastings has taken to Twitter to respond what he has described as “uneducated and abusive Tweets” being directed his way after his quotes were published.

He said: “A lot of uneducated and abusive Tweets being sent to me.

“Listen to the whole interview, not the 40 seconds you’re fixated on.

“Who’s to say my family won’t come over and I play my career out here.”
