Valentine Holmes’ dream of becoming an NFL star is over after being released from the New York Jets practice squad.

The 24-year-old was released from his Cronulla Sharks contract in 2018 to travel to America to try and pursue a career in American Football.

In April 2019 he was signed by the Jets, and although he played in pre-season matches against New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons he did not make the final cut and was placed on the practice squad.

During his two matches, he played 39 offensive plays and five special teams snaps.
