Hull Kingston Rovers have been dealt an injury blow with reports that new signing Nick Rawsthorne will miss the start of the 2020 Betfred Super League season.

Hull Live have reported that the former Toronto Wolfpack back picked up an ankle ligament injury during pre-season training.

It is believed the 24-year-old will be out of action for around 10 weeks. That means he will miss Hull KR’s opener against Wakefield Trinity on Friday, January 31, while he could also be missing for the derby clash against his old club – Hull FC.

Rawsthorne has had spells at Halifax, South Wales Scorpions, Hull, York City Knights, Doncaster, Leigh Centurions and Toronto.
