Kangaroos announce Test and World Cup nines squads

Australia coach Mal Meninga has named his two squad for the Kangaroo’s upcoming Tests with Tonga and New Zealand and the World Cup 9s.

There are six new faces in the line up, with Brisbane prop and Dally M Rookie of the Year Payne Haas, Canberra’s Clive Churchill Medal winner Jack Wighton and winger Nick Cotric, St George prop Paul Vaughan, Melbourne winger Josh Addo-Carr and South Sydney forward Cameron Murray all included in the squad for the first time.

Sydney Roosters premiership winning captain Boyd Cordner will lead the side.

Meninga has also named his World Cup 9s squad, which is laced with young and exciting talents across the NRL, including Gold Coast Titans’ AJ Brimson and young Melbourne live wire Ryan Papenhuyzen.
