Following a season in League 1 with Newcastle, hooker Keal Carlile has returned to the Championship.

Carlile previously played in the Championship for Sheffield and Featherstone, after having spent the formative years of his senior career in the Super League.

He said: “I’m delighted to have signed for Fax, it’s all come about so quickly but as soon as I spoke to Simon, I believed in his plans and how the club is looking to moving forward.

“There seems to be a definite buzz around the place and I can’t wait to get started now and have a big 2020.”

Coach Simon Grix said: “Keal is an experienced 9 with the ability to bring players onto the ball and generate speed at the play the ball.

“He is obviously coming here primarily to compete for a spot in the team every week.

“Second to that and no less important, I have no doubt he can bring on both Brandon (Moore) and Curt (Davies) as they continue to develop.

“Between them we hope to have healthy competition.”
